National Parks Weekend | Free Entrance to Over 100 National Parks

In the immortal words of John Muir: “You may close California’s parks, but you’ll never have our national parks. Hell, we’ll even make them free.
Okay so the conservationist didn’t say that but there are Free Entrance Days in the National Parks, special fee-free days that you should take advantage of to visit parks that usually cost entrance fees.
This is the last fee-free day of 2011. Here are the observed days every year:
  • Mid – January for Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday weekend
  • Late April for National Park Week
  • June 21 for the first day of summer
  • September 24 for Public Lands Day
  • Mid November for Veterans Day weekend
[ Find a National Park near you. ]
Making the fun even more affordable, many national park concessioners are joining the National Park Service in welcoming visitors with their own special offers. Check back on this site to find those.
